Environment

ACKSYS controls for several years its environmental footprint and complies with various environmental regulations such as RoHS, WEEE, REACH…

The RoHS directive

  • all printed circuit boards comply to RoHS directive since 01/01/2006
  • ACKSYS products contain no mercury (Hg) or cadmium (Cd)
  • products manufactured after July 1, 2006 are in compliance with the RoHS directive with the exception of product line MCX intended for military & aeronautical applications
  • new product studies are conducted in accordance to the requirements of the RoHS directive

The Reach regulation

Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulates the use of chemical substances in the EU. It entered into force on 1 June 2007. The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances. Substances manufactured or imported in quantities of 1 tonne or more per year must be registered by the relevant deadlines, or may not be placed on the market.

ACKSYS declaration regarding the REACH duty to communicate Information on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs)

ACKSYS, as a downstream user, neither manufactures nor imports any chemical substances into the European Community on their own or in preparations in quantities of 1 tonne or more per year. The delivered product, based on our best knowledge at the date of publication of this document, do not contain chemical substances included on the initial candidate list in a concentration above 0.1% weight by weight (w/w). Therefore, ACKSYS did and does not currently have a direct REACH obligation to pre-register and potentially register substances.

This declaration will be updated as soon as any changes occur or new relevant substances are added to the candidate list (last update 12 January 2017 / 173 substances).

The nature of ACKSYS’ wireless solutions dedicated to its customers, allows among others remote access for management and maintenance of facilities and limits the movement of people and therefore CO2 emissions.

Furthermore, ACKSYS products are designed with a minimum lifetime of 5 years, limiting the impact associated with maintenance and waste treatment.

Finally, ACKSYS pays particular attention to providing solutions compatible to existing facilities, enabling its customers to maintain or re-use their equipment.
