ACKSYS Networking Devices Manager known bugs

Please note that several problems reported to our technical support were found as customer problems or non-bugs, thus the holes in the numbered list below.
Also, the bugs corrected in previous versions are left off this list.
Tracker# found in versions version corrected Description / Countermesures
161.6.02.12.0 Cannot detect products on Ethernet and a VPN simultaneously. (same for any multi-homed computer)
See How to... in the help.
171.6.02.12.0 With multiple network interfaces on a Linux box, an message "the computer is not connected to the network" displays when any interface link drops.
Restart NDM should this happen. Use of NDM on a multi-homed computer is discouraged.
192.0.0(not repeatable) Null pointer exception after a product firmware upgrade followed by a refresh.
232.0.0- The McAFee antivirus sometimes detects forbidden accesses to UDP ports 6666 and 6667 (minor).
252.0.0(not repeatable) "Unavailable" displayed in some columns after a change of the IP address.
262.0.0(not repeatable) If a product alive on the LAN has the same IP than an inaccessible other product previously recorded in the remote products database, the (inexistant) remote product is displayed with an IP conflict indication, and the (existant) local product is not correctly displayed.
→ This problem was not repeatable. Should it happen, delete the recorded remote product.
272.0.02.10.7 Message "no route to host - datagram send failed" must be acknowledged several times when the network connection is lost.
→ The message can be disabled/enabled in the preferences→options dialog.
292.0.0- Multi-configuration dialog: using "reset factory settings" on several products at once is very slow.
302.0.0(not repeatable) NDM does not work on some configurations of Windows 7.
→ The reason is unknown and still under investigation.
382.4.02.12.0 Multi-homed products (WLn series) may still incur previous bug #24, in which the displayed gateway is incorrect after a reset to factory settings.
402.0.0- If the IP address of the computer running NDM is changed, NDM ceases displaying the products.
→ Minor. Stop and restart NDM.
441.0.0- On some Linux/Ubuntu user interface configurations, the systray icon is too small.
→ Minor, display-only, issue.
462.6.0- On some Windows platforms, the user HOME directory is mistaken; it is a Java known (and not yet solved) issue.
→ Move back the user's "Desktop" in the user's "home" directory.
482.6.0- When either the MAC or IP address of a product changes, NDM cannot query its SNMP agent to display its state, nor can it download new firmware.
  • The MAC address can change when a WLg-series product switches to/from emergency upgrade mode, where it uses a fixed MAC address.
  • The MAC address can "appear" to change when you change the connected Ethernet port on a WLn-ABOARD product.
  • The IP address can change without NDM taking note, if the product swithces to/from emergency upgrade, or the address is changed directly via the web interface or a SNMP manager.
→ Execute the command "arp -d" at the command prompt and proceed.
492.6.02.10.7 NDM cannot upgrade the firmware of WLn-series products if they are not in emergency upgrade mode.
→ Upgrade using either emergency upgrade mode or the web interface of the product.
#1792.6.02.10.2 Products in 802.11s mode display incomplete information.
#3212.6.62.10.2 When a product (not a category) is selected in the connections tree, pushing the refresh button causes NDM to hang.
#344all2.10.0 When a product can not be loaded, NDM show the wrong message.
→ Displaying a message "all loaded" when all product are loaded successfully; a message "all fail" when no product is loaded; a message "some fail" when some product are loaded successfully.
#351all 2.16.0 When the default "snmp read/write community" is changed, previously detected products are still polled with the original community.
→ Delete products detected by NDM (until V2.12.1) or change their community to default in the "detected products database" so that the new community will be used when they are re-detected.
#3522.8.02.10.0 There is no Signal Trace part in HELP file.
→ Add this part.
#3562.8.02.10.0 There is no change language manually part in HELP file.
→ Add this part.
#4642.10.22.16.0 "Hide selection" cannot hide after refresh.
#7522.4.02.12.0 In the "Infrastructure station" node of products tree, bad location of access point which is WLn product.
#7532.10.22.12.0 Wrong Mesh title
→ Change "Mesh node" to "Mesh Portal".
#754all2.12.0 Useless delay during scanning
#755all2.12.0 The NDM icon is not always removed from the taskbar when NDM exits.
#7562.10.72.12.0 SNMP does not work on serial/Wi-Fi port server.
#7652.8.02.16.0 In the Signal Trace dialog, after the product is lost, NDM continues to trace using the last value.
#7662.12.02.12.1 NDM does not work on Windows with OpenVPN in TAP mode.
#7702.12.12.16.0 Time axis in the Signal Trace dialog should be in 24 hours format.
#14392.12.12.16.0 In the Signal Trace dialog, "Apply" button can incorrectly start the trace without pressing "Start" button.
#14552.12.12.16.0 NDM cannot start in a network without gateway.
#1482all2.18.0 NDM cannot start if user name of operating system contains special characters (non-ASCII7 characters).
#1870all2.18.0 NDM cannot upgrade the firmware if the firmware file size is bigger than 32MB.
#1873all2.18.0 If the product is in emergency upgrade mode, firmware upload starts after the TFTP password check timeout.
#18902.6.02.18.0 NDM behaves randomly if one of the products has more than 4 wireless interfaces defined on one radio card.
