Profiles dialog
The "Multi-configure..." choice in the Edit menu brings up the
Configuration Profiles dialog which allows to
- create products subsets defined by selection criteria;
- define lists of changes to apply to products subsets;
- save to disk the resulting configuration profile;
- recall the profile at any time to apply, change or delete it.
Footnotes:
- In order to apply the changes, the Profiles Dialog uses SNMP which must thus be enabled on the target products.
- As shown on the above screen, the passwords appear in clear text.
Thus we strongly recommend that you leave any password values blank when defining a profile which will be saved on disk,
and that you complete the value only when applying to the products.
- The "Wi-Fi role" parameter is special: it must be set on its own, since it involves a major reconfiguration of the product.
In order to reconfigure access points to bridge mode or vice-versa, you must create two profiles:
one which changes the Wi-Fi role and one which sets the parameters.
Apply the first profile, wait for the products to reboot then apply the second profile.
- The Wi-Fi channel must be entered as a valid channel (1..14 for 802.11bg, 36..64 for 802.11a, 100..165 for 802.11h, 907/912/917/922 for WL-XR900 products)
- The "Reset product afterwards" checkbox adds a command to reboot the products after applying the changes.
