Products Database dialogs

NDM can manage products in two different cases: The products found using both technologies are kept on disk in a database so that you can easily find products that became unreachable. Two dialogs allow to manage both products cases:

Remote Products Database dialog

MAC address list:This list contains all the products previously added. Select here the product you wish to change, or select "<new>" to add a new remote product.
IP address:When adding or changing a product, enter the IP address where the product can be found. This address must be routable through the gateways to the product, and the product must have been configured beforehand with IP parameters allowing it to answer through its gateway.
SNMP read community:The SNMP read community configured in the product must be entered here before the product can be queried. The <default> value will use the value configured in the Preferences dialog.
Find button:When adding a new product this button will query the given IP address to get its unique MAC address and some identification information.
MAC address:Displays after a successful query.
SNMP write community:The SNMP write community configured in the product must be entered here to allow changing the product configuration. The <default> value will use the value configured in the Preferences dialog.
Update button:When changing an existing product this button applies the changes. When adding, it is disabled.
Delete button:When changing an existing product this button deletes the product. When adding, it is disabled.
Close button:Closes this dialog without further action.
Delete all button:Deletes all products added using this dialog.

Detected Products Database dialog

The detected Products dialog has the same appearance but it does not allow to add a new product. Its main use is to change the SNMP communities from the default values, and also to forget products that will never be reconnected to the local LAN. It allows some cleanup of the main products list when the "Show nonresponding products" option is on.

Pack Database

The "Pack database" collects empty space in the database, reducing its file size with no loss of information.
